Founded in 2008 by artist Bari Ziperstein, BZIPPY is known for its experimentation and innovation with ceramic furniture, planters, and home accessories. Working tirelessly to develop engineering methods that challenge conventional notions of slab construction, BZIPPY devises creative solutions to both formal designs and technical concerns. The studio also facilitates the production of collectible design and fine-art work.

The setting for this position is within a 9,000 sq ft artist studio in Sun Valley, CA that houses the creation, fabrication, and sale of ceramic sculpture. With eleven full-time employees, the studio is a business first and an artist studio second - we offer up to 40 hours per week plus a full benefits package that includes company-subsidized health benefits.

Role Overview: As the Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving new business development, managing existing client relationships, overseeing sales logistics, and coordinating marketing efforts.

Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies aimed at achieving sales goals and driving revenue growth as identified by the Director of Sales and CEO.
  • Partner with the Director of Sales to develop joint initiatives and campaigns that drive revenue growth and enhance brand visibility.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, lead generation, and client outreach.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, addressing inquiries, and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Spearhead the implementation and improvement of sales processes to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

Client Management:

  • Conduct client meetings and studio tours to showcase our products and services, identify client needs, and propose customized solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and quotes to prospective clients, ensuring alignment with their requirements and expectations.
  • Manage the end-to-end sales process, from initial inquiry to order fulfillment, coordinating with internal teams to ensure smooth logistics and delivery.

Sales Administration:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client databases, product catalogs, and sales reports to track performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Process orders, handle inquiries, and provide order updates to clients, ensuring timely and efficient order processing and delivery.
  • Collaborate with the department Director on sales duties, including accurately describing product processes and characteristics to prospective and existing clients.
  • Maintain organized email correspondence with clients, addressing inquiries, order confirmations, statuses, delays, and logistics handoffs.
  • Ensure up-to-date product catalogs, terms, and conditions, and manage client databases in Salesforce, Quickbooks, and Gmail.
  • Accurately draft estimates and invoices across multiple platforms, monitor and manage estimates, and execute precise order data input into internal spreadsheets.

Ecommerce Management:

  • Oversee the maintenance of our webstore platform, ensuring accurate product listings, images, and descriptions to drive online sales and enhance the customer experience.
  • Maintain webstore accuracy on WordPress, execute accurate data input in Quickbooks and WordPress, and manage image storage in Dropbox and the website regularly.
  • Monitor website performance metrics, analyze user behavior, and implement strategies to optimize conversion rates and increase online sales.
  • Collaborate with marketing partners to create compelling online marketing assets, including campaigns, social media posts, and advertisements, to drive traffic and engagement.
  • Maintain product tearsheets, an up-to-date record of sale products, and an accurate stockist list, ensuring easy access to essential information for customers and partners.
  • Curate and manage the press and in-situ pages with meticulous attention, presenting a compelling showcase of the company's achievements.

Marketing Coordination:

  • Collaborate with marketing partners on the development and execution of innovative sales strategies aimed at driving revenue growth.
  • Assist in the conception, implementation, and optimization of multi-faceted marketing campaigns across diverse channels.
  • Aid in the creative direction and production of marketing collateral including print media, online assets, and advertisements.
  • Maintain a marketing calendar and schedule assets accordingly, optimizing delivery and impact.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Collaborate with senior management on a daily basis to align sales strategies with overall company objectives and initiatives, providing insights and recommendations based on sales data and market trends.
  • Act as a liaison between the sales department and external marketing consultants, effectively project managing collaborative efforts to ensure cohesive messaging and strategy implementation.
  • Anticipate future staffing needs and assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members as the department grows.

Bari Ziperstein Studio is always recruiting for a Fabricator of both smalls and larges. Preferred candidates have 1-3+ years of slab-building experience and past professional studio experience. Wheel throwing and coil building skills are not transferable for this studio’s construction methods - joined thrown works are considered.
